Bezoek aan Houston
In het laatste weekend van Juli brengen we een bezoek aan onze vrienden in Houston.
In the last weekend in July we visit our friends in Houston.

We slapen bij Paul & Rosina Lane en spelen vele potjes tafelvoetbal.
We're staying with Paul & Rosina Lane and play a lot of table football.
Traditioneel eten we eerste avond natuurlijk bij Good Company Texas BBQ. Onovertroffen.
According to our tradition the first night we eat of course at Good Company Texas BBQ. Unsurpassed.
Voor een redelijk compensatie is Zefanja best bereid tot wat werk.
For a reasonable compensation Zefanja is always prepared to do some work.
Zefanja speelt honkbal met Quinten bij de Keller's in Brazos.
Zefanja plays baseball with Quinten at the Keller's in Brazos.
Natuurlijk moet er ook het nodige gecomputeerd worden. Sarah, Zefanja, Quinten, Cora en Rebecca.
Of course they need to play computer games as well. Sarah, Zefanja, Quinten, Cora and Rebecca.
Terwijl Donnie pannekoeken met spek bakt.
While Donnie is baking pan cakes with bacon.
En Lilian op de piano wil spelen.
And Lilian wants to play the piano.
Het was geweldig om al onze vrienden in Houston weer te zien. Een rondje golf te spelen met pastor Mark en Marc Bierma.
Al was het maar een half rondje omdat we van de baan ge-onweerd werden.
Bijpraten met Paul & Rosina. Op bezoek bij Donnie & Sally Keller en de kinderen. Spaghetti bij Roy & Pam Huddle.
Kerkdienst in het nieuwe gebouw van Brighton Church of Houston. Lekker uit eten na de kerk met gemeenteleden.
En weer 5 1/2 uur autorijden om thuis te komen om te ontdekken dat de airconditioning kapot was gegaan...
Na een hete avond werd die weer snel hersteld. Maar het duurt toch nog bijna een hele dag voor het huis om weer af te koelen van 32 graden
naar 25 graden.
It was great to see all Houston friends again. Play a round of golf with pastor Mark and Marc Bierma.
Although it was only half a round as we were thunder stormed off the course.
Catch up with Paul & Rosina. Visit Donnie & Sally and their children. Eat spaghetti with Roy & Pam Huddle.
Church service in the new building of Brighton Church of Houston. Eat out after church with other church members.
And drive home again for 5 1/2 hours to find the air conditioning in our house had broken down…
After a hot night it was quickly repaired. But it still took almost a full day to cool down the whole house from 90 to 75 F.
